AMI/AMR
Without Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Automated Meter Reading (AMR), meters have to be manually read on a monthly basis. This is a cumbersome process that doesn't provide detailed generation or consumption data in a timely fashion. Here are some scenarios where Trimark-designed custom AMI/AMR solutions can modernize meter communications:
- Generating facilities transmitting real-time meter data to grid operators
- Townships or municipalities gathering monthly billing data from customer load meters
- Military bases performing daily sub-metering of electric, water, and gas meters.
Trimark's roots are in AMR. Key staff members are former CAISO, PG&E, and SMUD
metering veterans with expertise covering
the entire range of traditional meter
communications technologies, including but
not limited to:
- Analog phone lines
- Serial
- Ethernet
- CellularSuccess in today's utility environment demands expertise

Most recently, Trimark has been instrumental in the design of larger AMI systems. Beyond traditional AMR capabilities, our AMI solutions include more cost-effective radio frequency
(RF) or self-healing mesh devices to create robust metering networks
at a low per-node cost. The AMI solutions also provide full
two-way communications from a central location to each remote
meter, allowing for remote management and control of the meters
if desired.
