Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)

SCADA refers to an industrial control system monitoring power generation and other industrial processes. SCADA systems provide communication to multiple data protocols with all necessary conversions. SCADA also provides data paths for meter information to the generator's central control unit for closed-loop and reverse-power control.

Data Processing Gateway (DPG)

The DPG is the required SCADA system for Non-AGC generating facilities participating in the ISO markets. It consists of an Areva e-terra system that acts as the data hub for intelligent electronic devices located in a generating facility. The DPG is capable of communicating with devices utilizing DNP 3.0, OPC, Modbus, or PI protocols. The DPG in turn makes the facility's data available to the ISO, the facility owner, and any other approved user. Trimark currently performs more DPG installations and configurations in California than anyone else. Our staff, in addition to being skilled metering installers and inspectors, has extensive, direct experience with the ISO and its considerable requirements for documentation of metering and DPG installations. Additionally, Trimark offers a range of other communications and metering products and services to fit the needs of any generating facility.

Remote Intelligent Gateway (RIG)

The RIG is a SCADA system capable of performing all functions of the DPG, plus the ability to control the facility's actual level of power generation based upon setpoints triggered by the ISO. Trimark's Areva-based DPG systems are software-upgradeable with RIG capabilities without any major hardware changes.
